The Global Law and Social Reproduction Network (GlaRe) is pleased to announce a two-daw workshop on The Law & Political Economy of Social Reproduction, to be held October 7-8, 2026 at Roskilde University, Denmark. The workshop marks the culmination of the inaugural year of the network; an international, interdisciplinary initiative dedicated to advancing sociolegal scholarship at the intersection of law, political economy and social reproduction. The workshop is supported by a Law and Society Association Grant.
The workshop examines how legal frameworks shape the recognition, organization, and distribution of reproductive labor, bringing together sociolegal and political economy scholarship. We build on a literature that has pluralized the concept of social reproduction, moving beyond household-centered models to attend to its communal, transnational, state-mediated, and technologically mediated forms.
